HP ProBook x360 11 Designed For The Education Market
HP and Microsoft announced the ProBook x360 11 Education Edition. As with all of HP’s ‘x360’ devices, the screen can be adjusted into any position that you want, offering four modes: notebook, tablet, stand, and tent. Making it easy to type, write, and swipe on the touch screen at a desk or on the go.
Hewlett-Packed is already a pretty big name in the education sector, but the company is now looking to expand its position with the release of a new convertible aimed at accident-prone students. The ProBook x360 11 G1 Education Edition is being billed as the world’s thinnest rugged convertible. And we have no reason to discount HP’s claim.
HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition Features:
The company is promising student-friendly features, ‘including an optional active pen to make math, art, note-taking in OneNote and highlighting in Microsoft Edge easier than ever.’ It also includes the Take a Test app, which should help teachers to create test-taking environments. Students can also tap into the add-on “explorer mode” dual camera system: Use the 1080p HD camera embedded on the keyboard deck to record video while in tablet mode.
The laptop comes preloaded with classroom management software, and it’s been designed with a pair of other features that HP says were made from educators’ feedback. The first is an LED on the back lid of laptop that lights up when Wi-Fi is enabled, letting teachers know if kids are browsing the web when they shouldn’t be.
HP ProBook x360 11 Education Edition Specs:
The device is available with different specs, including either an Intel Celeron or Pentium processor, 8GB RAM, and between 64GB and 256GB of internal storage. As one would expect, it ships with Windows 10; while it is offered in Home and Pro, HP recommends Pro for schools.
It’s also designed to pass MIL-STD 810G testing, which means that it’s salt-, fog-, humidity-, transport shock-, thermal shock-resistant, and more. According to the Microsoft, HP dropped hundreds of PCs from a distance of 29.5-inches, which is about the height of a desk in a school.
