ZTE Revealed New Axon 7 Flagship Smartphone
ZTE took the wraps off the new Axon 7, its new flagship smartphone. The device has been made available for pre-orders in the Chinese market, and will be available for buy online and retail stores on June 2. The smartphone should make its way to US shores soon as well, like the foregoing generation.
This Axon 7 comes out with a slick design, reasonable price and powerful specs that challenges the Samsung Galaxy S7 and forthcoming iPhone 7 in a dual SIM, unlocked form.
As with the last years model, the Axon 7 focuses on multimedia: a 5.5-inch QHD panel is flanked by two stereo speakers, which are powered by a sizable amplifier. There is also a separate chip for the headphone jack, along with Dolby Atmos support for surround sound emulation.
Along with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the phone’s curved back is home to the 20 megapixel rear camera and f/1.8 lens combo which promises to be competitive with the Galaxy S7 and LG G5. Gone is the second 2 megapixel sensor from last year, largely a gimmick for creating depth-of-field effects. Around front, an 8 megapixel selfie camera should suffice for most people, too.
A 3140 mAh battery keeps everything going all day, along with Quick Charge 3.0 support which recharges the device in 100 minutes. And as with last year, ZTE is 6.0 Android Marshmallow-based build is simple or as simple as it is going to get from the company — with a feeling that is close to stock.
Finally, the ZTE Axon 7 is one of the first devices to be announced with Daydream support, enabling the device to be used with Google upcoming VR platform.
The new phone has Qualcomm’s highest-end processor, 4 gigabyte or 6 gigabyte of RAM, a quad HD AMOLED display, metal chassis, quick charging, and a new dual-speaker system with Dolby surround sound.
