Sharp Aquos S2 – Looks Pretty Similar To Essential Phone
Sharp – the Japanese smartphone manufacturer has just announced its latest smartphone, touted as the Sharp Aquos S2 – featuring the edge-to-edge display. The phone is pretty similar to the Essential phone, which was launched by Andy Rubin. However, the Essential phone has not available yet, and there is no information when it will begin shipping.
But you have an option for Sharp Aquos S2 that looks like the Essential phone, as I mentioned above. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, which carries the support for the 2K resolution. The display is almost truly bezel-less and having a front camera cutout on the top of the screen, which looks like the Essential phone’s camera cutout. The smartphone carries the only real bezel at the bottom of the display to make room for Home button.
As you might have seen, most of the smartphone comes with square corners, but the newly arrive Aquos S2 handset has a slightly rounded corner, which makes it more attractive and unique than the other smartphones. The phone sports an 8-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, which will capture beautiful selfies. While on the back of the device, there will be a dual camera setup, carries a 12 megapixel plus 8-megapixel sensors. The back camera also offers you bokeh effect.
The Sharp Aquos S2 smartphone will come in two editions: standard edition or high edition. The standard edition is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and paired with 4GB of RAM. For the storage, there will be 64 gigabytes of expandable storage. While the high edition is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. And it is equipped with a 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.
Both editions run on the latest generation Android Nougat operating system out of the box and come with a 3,020mAh battery. Both phones come with the support for fingerprint sensor for added security. In terms of price, the smartphone will starts at ¥2499, so about $373/£285 and only available in China.
