Garmin Vivosmart 4 comes out with a blood oxygen monitor called “pulse ox”

Garmin has unveiled the Vivosmart 4, its trendy fitness tracker, which adds new fitness features at the same time as retaining a narrow design.

The most thrilling new feature here is the heart beat oximeter sensor, which tracks your blood oxygen saturation. The characteristic first popped up at the Fenix 5X Plus, where it is used to track oxygen tiers at higher altitudes. Garmin’s leveraging the same tech right into a more mainstream use with the Vivosmart 4, so one can come up with readings via the day and during sleep.

Garmin Vivosmart 4 Activity and Fitness Tracker Features

The new tool builds at the extremely popular Vivosmart 3 – a fitness tracker that takes across all the capabilities of its predecessors in the Vivo collection, and provides more sophisticated training equipment together with VO2 max and fitness age, all day stress monitoring, and the potential to rely reps and units in the gym.

Considered one of its different new capabilities is the capability to gauge your energy levels based on your pressure, heart rate variability, sleep quality and activity. A high “Body Battery power” means Vivosmart four thinks you will be able to cope with heavier responsibilities like operating out, at the same time as a low one approach the tool believes you need to take it easy. To make that new function possible, Garmin has redesigned its heart rate sensor to make it greater effective and made sure the tool has all-day pressure monitoring, which comes with a relax reminder characteristic that suggests you’re taking a breather if your stress stages go through the roof.

Garmin vivosmart 4 Activity and Fitness Tracker Design

In terms of design the gizmo is not all too different from Garmin’s other fitness trackers. It comes with a sporty looking silicone strap, aluminum bezel and polycarbonate lens. But what strikes you right away is its slim form-factor. If you imagine a Fitbit Flex 2 with a screen, you would get the Vivosport 4.

There are two sizes to choose from – a small/medium and large. The small/medium weighs only 20.4 grams, while at 21.5 grams, the large version is a fraction heavier. The screen has the same 6.6 mm x 17.7 mm dimensions on both iterations.
