Formia Emissions Control Business Unit is specialised in incinerators to treat low concentration VOC-emissions, industrial odors and carbon monoxide emissions. 

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) outlets are a by-product in most industrial processes using organic solvents. VOCs cause hazards for health and environment and most of the countries, especially in EU and North America, have set strict legislation to decrease and limit VOC emissions. VOC abatement standards are continuously tightening also in emerging countries.

Typical industries served are paint manufacturing, painting and varnishing industry, printing houses, pharmaceutical industry and petrochemical and chemical industries. Odor pollution, hydrogen sulphate and carbon monoxide are mostly produced by the pulp and paper industry and chemical industry.

Emissions with lower solvent content do not contain enough energy to support independent burning and therefore usage of support energy may significantly increase operational cost of the VOC treatment process - even hundreds of thousands euros yearly. Formia Smart VOC incinerators are all designed to provide required lowering of emission levels at low operational cost.
