Formia Emissions Control Business Unit covers at first stage the productisation, marketing, sale, production and maintenance of incinerators to treat VOC-emissions, industrial odors, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide emissions. 

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) outlets are a by-product in most industrial processes using organic solvents. VOCs cause hazards for health and environment and most of the countries, especially in EU and North America, have set strict legislation to decrease and limit VOC emissions. Standards are continuously tightening also in emerging countries.

Typical industries served are paint manufacturing, painting and varnishing industry, printing houses, pharmaceutical industry and petrochemical and chemical industries. Odor pollution, hydrogen sulphate and carbon monoxide are mostly produced by the pulp and paper industry and chemical industry.
